Moffat on Reels

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) and the Moffat Heritage Trust have confirmed that all the activities planned for 2020, but postponed due to COVID-19, will take place in March / April, 2021. This will include the training in traditional skills week, which features a lecture by Nigel Copsey (seen in this video in the Old Churchyard, Moffat) and Alex Gibbons, explaining the merits of Hot Mix Lime; the SPAB AGM in the Town Hall which will feature a walking tour of the town

The Moffat pipe band in 1990 - the third and last of these clips, originally recorded on a Sony Handycam but, as the file type is so old, it won't upload. So this clip was played on screen and then recorded on a more contemporary device. In those days, there was nothing much at Gretna, the Annandale Water Service Station didn't exist and so, if you were stopping on your way north or south, you stopped at Moffat. | Visit Moffat
